Windows client
Quiet background recording: install it once and the client logs every flight for you.
Version 0.3.11 · Size: 115.7 MB · SHA-256: 58376cd2a6c22b5d724cf5bf5cfadc34bce419aaf449f0cb13937c96f885dcbb
Install once — updates arrive on their own.
Compare the SHA-256 before running to confirm the file is unchanged. In PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\Flare-Setup-<version>.exe -Algorithm SHA256 — the hash must match the one above.
Antivirus engines (Defender and others) sometimes falsely flag an unsigned installer. Verify the SHA-256 above — it is usually a false positive, not a virus.

Recording runs itself
01 Quiet recording, no manual start: the flight is logged in the background — no buttons mid-flight.
02 Autostart and tray: it starts with Windows and stays in the tray, out of your way.
03 Updates inside the client: new versions install themselves, with nothing to download by hand.
You can use it without the client
The site works in your browser without the client: the log, map, replay and debrief are all right there. The client is only needed to record flights automatically.
Installation
Download the installer and open it. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning — that is expected.
- 1Open the downloaded file.
- 2In the "Windows protected your PC" window, click "More info".
- 3Click "Run anyway" and finish the installation.
Why the warning appears: our publisher signature is still being processed, so Windows sees an unknown publisher. You can verify the file against the SHA-256 above before running it.
If the hash matches, the file is ours and unchanged. If it does not, do not run it — let us know.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
What's next
After installing, open the client and sign in with the confirmation code, approving it under your account on the site.
Updates
Updates install automatically inside the client — nothing to download or run by hand.
An update never interrupts a flight: if recording is in progress, the client updates once it ends.
Is it safe?
Yes. The client runs read-only: it changes nothing and never interferes with an active flight. You can verify the file by its SHA-256 before running it.
Do I need the client to use the site?
No. The site works in your browser without the client — the log, map, replay and debrief are all available. The client is only needed to record flights automatically.
What happens to recording if I didn't run the client?
The flight won't be recorded. Only the client records flights, so without it running a flight won't reach your log. Anything recorded earlier stays safe.
